Bilateral calcifications of the basal ganglia, most often in the putamina, are commonly observed on CT. Calcifications may occur before CNS symptoms appear. TYROBP (DAP12) and TREM2 are the two genes associated with PLOSL. Inheritance is autosomal recessive.
